Long Arm Install
Due to Me wanting to make my own long arm kit does anyone have pics of what they have done to their own rigs to give me some Idea of what to do. Thanks for any input.

Id still get some better jam nuts.
As long as the uppers are moutned like stock and the lowers get mounted a little better I think you'll be more than fine.
Id sandwich some angle iron between the tubing for the TC drop and the LA moutn and weld to the LA moutn and put 3 1/2" bolts through the unirails and about 2-3 up into it too.

id cut off your lower CA brackets that the once stock CA's attached to. your lower arms are pushed back and evertime the axle travels upward it will hit that bracket. i did the same to mine! trust me!

also id remount your uppers on your lowers with a true y-link set up. thats what i run and it makes a big difference. just ask Kyle COSXJFAN

here's mine.
the crossmember gets bolted to the original location, then the ends get bent up and welded to the frame rails.
the middle section can be unbolted and removed for tranny service.

The lower arms look to be adjustable, but when they are mounted they look like they are really close, if not all the way to as short as they get. Is that on purpose?
Im considering making my own set too! I really like the removable crossmember!

yup, home made, for the most part. we actually copied the clayton kit to exact measurements and rendered it in autocad.
everything total, including welding gas and wire, grinding and flap discs, all in all about 500 canadian. the most was the johnny joints.
the pic is deceiving, there is actually loads of room, and that was just the test fit on the test vehicle without a real alignment. but when i installed it on mine, it didn't need any adjustment at the alignment shop. and it flexes like crazy.

a friends buddy bought a claytons kit and we borrowed it before he installed it on his xj. so we made 2.

Those links from Tractor supply are strong as hell. Dont know how many times my front end went air born or hopped but not one of them bent so yes I would drive them on the strret and on the trail.:thu mbsup::thu mbsup::thu mbsup::thu mbsup::thu mbsup:
