Exclamation long cranking

i have a 98 cherokee and i have to crank a little to get it to start but if i turn the key let it build pressure it will start right up fine.i know this is a comon problem so i checked fuel pressure and soon as i turn the engine off pressure drops to 0..i think thats way to fast to be a leaky injector so im gessing it be the check valve.. what do you guys think and insted of replacing the fuel pump could i put a inline check valve.. thanks
