yeah I guess I'll just run this thing into the ground and when the time comes for a new engine...ill have to spend the money and just get a 4.7

I had the same thing in a non-jeep, and I had blown a head gasket... maybe a cracked head?



MAYBE I SHOULD READ ALL THE POSTS BEFORE POSTING HUH?

If you're talking about Bars Leaks or something like that, the main complaint I've heard is that it tends to clog the oil ports themselves and creates a bigger problem. That, or it works and you drive it for another 100k.
Im pretty new to the xj myself and I thought the same thing so I was concerned because the oil pressure in my 98 was the same, Around 15 psi at hot idle and around 50 while driving, but after a good bit of research I found that folks who know a lot more than I do say that oil pressure is pretty much normal for the 4.0 at hot idle.
