Looking for a rear wiper motor and arm to install on an 89 XJ
My 89XJ Sport when new 32 years ago was sold without a rear window wiper. Looking for a wiper motor and arm, auto parts stores only stock wiper motors
for 91 XJs and newer. I know a generic motor and arm would work, anyone have any suggestions on which one to buy? Thanks

Source the needed parts from a wrecker. There are folks that take orders for parts, and then pull them for you at a wrecker, then ship them to you, a good option if you live far from a well stocked wrecker.

Here is a good used rear wiper motor on ebay $68 with 60 day warentee. Of course you may also need bracketing, and such, I dont know, what else is needed, other than wiper arm and of course wiring. That is why the wrecker is nice, you can get everything get the connectors for the wires, the switch, any brackets and screws, the arm, etc... research the service manual to see what is needed so you can request those parts from a puller guy if you dont pull them yourself.

Row 52 wedsite lets you search the pick n pull wreckers sites nation wide by vehicle, then you either go yourself, or send out a request for the specific parts you want.

some Pick n Pulls I see over half the guys there are professional pullers, working for individuals or repair shops in pulling parts for them. this is a new thing made
possible by the interweb. I recall the day when you never knew what you might find at the wrecker, now day my computer shows me the row that my target car is in at the yard and a photo of it, updated daily, nation wide!
So the wrecker is probably your best and easiest option, it will fit like OEM, cause it will be OEM!

The supply in the wreckers really ebbs and flows, many or few. so give it time. Thats the game you play with the wreckers, but where the pullers can help you.
Of course there is that ebay wiper motor, I have no idea what else you will need other than the arm and wires (and hose if you want the squirter) New arms can be had.
