Default Losing power between 35-45mph 2000rpm

hey, looking to get some insight on what my problem may be. my rig(90'xj limited) likes to lose power while under load at 35-45mph at 2000rpm. usually when im on a mountain highway and i have to slowly climb a steep hill behind traffic. the only remedies i can some up with is 1. slow down and get some room, then get the rpms past 2200 and avoid losing power 2. hold it as it loses power, and turn on my performance button (kicks the rpm up a nice bit) and get through it. other than that idk what else to do. can anyone tell me what may be the cause of this?

When you try to accelerate it should kick down to a lower gear to give you more power.
