If you have white smoke coming out of the exhaust it burning coolent in your combustion chamber oil has a blueish tent to it plus coolant will have a sweet smell to it really I dont know of a way to check for a cracked head with out taking it off but do you have a slight knock in your engine or does it sound good

I'd deff pressure test it like everyone else has said, if your loosing it fast there's gotta be a leak somewhere (duh) haha mine was my water pump, but then of coarse I could see that's where it was leaking out of

Yes you can pull the valve cover off and look in between the third and fourth rocker arm. Basically the center of the head. You'll be looking for any sort of clean streak where there is little to no oil in that area...

So what your saying is no one els. Has an informed opinion unless they have 2k post number I am an ASE certifide mech on many things and the cooling system is one of them if he has white smoke its burning coolent when oil burns its smoke has a blue smoke so yes he can pressure test it but unless its running it will hold when it is running the pressure should jump between strokes on the culprit cylenders
i was referring to the thoughts of bars leak and stop leak
and i see you recommend the pressure test also
i was just sayin that statisticly speaking someone with over 25 thousand posts likely has an informed opinion

a quick pressure test would test to see if there was anything other than the head leaking. basically to test the head leaking you would leave it pressurized overnight and see if it lost pressure

And you would do it in that order.. a normal test to see if there is a leak somewhere else and the overnight to see if it loses any pressure, in that case it would most likely be the head crack

Pull the valve cover one day....look for coolant in the rockers or anywhere it might pool.
I had the same issue head gasket was shot. No coolant in my oil, ran fine just used water about once a week I had to refill
