Yeah, that's my normal procedure. Didn't do it this time. Kept saying tomorrow..... tomorrow..... tomorrow..... Tis a tale told by a fool....
It sounds like some of you guys are getting ripped off by lock smiths. If the key is not chipped and the locks have not been changed, it shouldn't cost more that $10 to get one from a dealer. The parts dept at my work cuts keys for free it you buy it from them and the is no charge to looking up the key code by the vin.
I think the chip is probably the reason for the big difference in prices.
Mine's not chipped.
What year did they start that on Cherokees, anyway?

Yeah, that's my normal procedure. Didn't do it this time. Kept saying tomorrow..... tomorrow..... tomorrow.....creeps in this petty pace from day to day, until the last syllable of recorded time; Tis a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and furry, signifying nothng..

I do not have the Sentry Key Immobilzer on my 98; however, there were a few pages literally glued into the owners manual with procedures you need to know if you have that system.

It's funny. All the stuff is online now but some of the old service books are like that when there is an update in info or a tsb.

Yeah, that works!
Thanks all!
- One phone call to the dealer to verify they can do it.
- One stop at the dealer with driver's license, registration, and VIN.
- 3 keys made at $6.25 each.
Yeah, that works!
Thanks all!
