When ever i turn on my air, a loud highpitched squeel. Its not the AC compressor, the belt, or the thing that turns the belt. I changed all that already. The sound stops as soon as i cut the air off, but starts again when i cut it back on. Do any of you all know what this sound might be.

 

Are you sure It's not the compressor? I recall that noise being so LOUD that I could not pinpoint it. Ended up being my AC clutch bearing, which in turn led me to a new compressor...

Honestly, when you turn the AC off and it stops, It has to be the compressor. I guess it is possible for there to be extra tension on the belt system when the AC compressor is running full steam but, I would not be at all surprised if you needed a new compressor.

 

I already put a brand new one in though.

 

Hmm... Did it make that sound when you initially put the new compressor in?

 

The sound was still there, but it was a lowwer pitch when i put the new compressor in.

 

I would just double check the belt tension, my AC when I first bought mine would squeal like crazy when on.....turns out the belt just wasnt tight enough. Even if you think its OK just try to play with the tension a bit even, doesnt take anymore than 5-10 minutes to rule it out at the very least.
