Default Lower control arm question?

I have a 3" lift now. And as always, I got the bug for more, I'm looking to maybe get the RC spacers and shackles, which would bring me up another ~2". I've been reading on here about the leaght of the LCA's, is it possible, or a bad idea, to just do a "relocate" on the chassis bracket, to level them out? I understand that it would weaken the bracket, but maybe if I welded re-enforcement on them would it work?

Thanks,
J

Wish I had an answer for you but I don't. How long have you had the Zone lift and are you happy with the AAL and shocks it came with????

Yes, very happy with the zone aal. I think it rides alot better then it did. Haven't had it out on the trails yet. The shocks are really beefy, and everything in the kit seemed to be very good quality. I'm the rear I got around 3.5" lift, and it hasn't sagged any. Loaded her up with a bunch of scrap metal last weekend, the rear held nicly....Very happy. Lookingto go with 1.5" of 2" spacers and shackles.

I'm going to do the '99 intake mod, and goin' doorless this weekend. After that may go out on the trails for awhile.....

Yes, but I was looking to see if there was a way, like we have done the Track bar relocation? Could you do that with the LCA's? To help make the parallel with the ground? Like just redrill the LCA mount, and weld to re-enforce it? Would that work just as good as the drop brackets?

just buy some new lca's, might end up being about the same amount of money and that way you wouldnt have to worry about the sturdiness of the work when relocating them

A longer arm will get your caster back in spec (or at least really close).

-or-

There are kits with an additional LCA relocating bracket that will drop the arm down, but they don't shove it forward.

What is really needed is a bracket kit like the RC one above, but with the lower control arm pivot shifted forward 1.5"... then a long-arm kit would not be needed.
