ok well just to put it out there the drop im looking for is about 2-4 inches so the tires will be slightly tucked or even with the fender flare.. the back with the leaf under should drop me right in that range depending on the quality of spring.. and an air support might go in when i get the hitch later on for towing the next jeep project..
Im goin to go to the junkyard and find a couple jeep springs an see what would work best cutting and testing each.. but i have a strong feeling that the xj coils will do the trick.. and again for the front i might cut a lil longer than what i need and add air ride support to soften then ride..
theres to many opinions to choose from but if i done my research on unibody trucks and other lowered vehicle i think im looking in the right direction... wish there was someone who has done this before.
Please keep the information coming...

go to 505 performance. they tell you everything you need for a "poor mans" stroker kit. if i were you...i would get a good camshaft...a stroker kit which consist of a 4.2L crankshaft and 4.2 rods or new pistons, and bore it alittle bit. that brings it to 4.6L. then with the camshaft, i would get a 99 and up intake manifold for more airflow, and maybe a new throttle body. add some headers and new fuel injectors...youd probably be making a good amount of ponies...if thats not good enough, slap on some low compression pistons and a junkyard turbo. im sure all those lowered s-10s will hate you when you kick their @$$ at a red light.

The compression is already at 8.5-1 which is perfect for a turbo but its the engine itself that i don't think can hold..
2jz supra plus tranny, wire harness, and ecu all come together and its already an L6 so might have to fab up the motor mounts a lil.. they go for 2000 for auto and 3500 for manual.. but that a goal that will not happen until the cosmetic work is done.

there is a guy on e30tech.com (a bmw site) who has a twin turbo cherokee. he used megasquirt for engine management and made his own manifolds. he makes more then 275hp. he races his jeep in those desert races with the big paddle tires

only engine management you need on these motors is an adjustable MAP and a SAFC. then boost the **** out of it.
youll get better results if you get a custom cam but thats $$
id throw 18 pounds into a stock 4.0.. its a ****ing beast of a motor.

if i can do that then this engine project would be under way... i was looking at a holset cummins diesel turbo that would be perfect for 18psi and just getting something to controlled the air/fuel mixture but tappin the jeep ecu i here is a hella *****..

ive seen all there is to see about turbo jeeps where i couldnt stand looking at them anymore.. but the all have the t3/t4 turbos.. there good size but the spool up to fast to gain low end torgue... i want it to be more or less like a street car with turbo... i dont mind having the turbo lag at the beginning so i can hold boost futher in the rpm range.. its a pretty simple design to work with since ive build a few in turbo cars in the past its just getting the right management system to work with.. the ones i see tie into the ecu by splicing wires.. and thats something i dont like messing with especially with jeep being known for electrical problems... but its the only way to go.. but i dont know what would be best for my application..
ahh what the hell im i talking about im questioning to many things i should just do it and get it over with.. even if i get the large turbo i want... i can set the boost low until i get all the mapping timing and air/fuel in line to get the most power.. tuning is fun but long and time consuming when theres no time to get to a dyno...
If you or anyone would suggest a management system to use what would it be???
Can i do a stand alone system to run all the things i need instead of the factory ecu???

i'd honestly use stock TJ coils.. theyre a tad stiffer than XJ coils stock and will drop you .75-1".
for the back, i'm not so sure. losing leaves will kill your spring rate.
definitely invest in some quality shocks and some nice THICK swaybars and STURDY LINKS. 16 or 17 wheels with some wider sticky rubber will do a boatload of good, and some (maybe more than some) chassis stiffening will help too, and poly bushings in EVERYTHING. good motor/trans mounts as well.
as far as the motor, KEEP IT LIGHT. never seen a 2JZ in a jeep, but if you know what youre doing you can make anything work.

lol it wouldnt hold that much boost. the engine would explode.
