Exactly what I did on my WJ lug locks.

IIRC, the 3/4 socket was darn close. tried a metric one and it was slightly better but the damage was done. Thats what I get for sizing it based on the one that still had the chrome cRap cap on it.

If pounding a smaller socket on doesnt work, split the nut with a small air chisel bit.Pound out the fubared stud and replace.

What is your MOS I was in the Navy but worked with the army a lot when I was IA in Iraq. If you need an air hammer shipped to you just ask I will always take care of my brothers serving. Pm if you need anything. Within reason sent to you or your guys. I even got put inducted in the 16th Military Brigade Airborne in 2007. I don't think AAFES would carry an air hammer.

Hey Brotha,
Thank you so much for the offer! I think if I don't have mine I can always source one from the local OBI (sorta like Home Depot). I'd swear I actually brought mine... that's the down side of having stuff stored in Jeeps, tuff boxes, and nooks and crannies! haha!
I spent 11 years +/- as a 19K (tanker-Armor crewman). Got out for 6 years and when I was coming back in they didn't really have much to offer. My current MOS is an 88M... the Army's version of a truck driver. Lol! I'm kind of an enigma to my units since I have skill identifiers that pertain to nothing my current MOS would understand or use on a regular basis. *shrugs* But to be honest I haven't really driven many trucks since coming back in. I'm usually the "old guy that knows stuff" and somehow get tasked out to support things many have forgotten. Weapons is one example. You'd be surprised how many "kids" come out of basic now days and can't shoot squat!
Its kinda funny... I tried for years to get the Army to send me here to Europe and they never did. Then, when I was in Iraq in '09-10 I tried to get Branch to send me to Ft Carson Colorado but they already had orders for me to Germany! LOL! But for a Jeeper I have to say I'm in the wrong country and its time to head home!
Thanks again so much for the supportive offer and for your service!

Craftsman makes a set of sockets for that. 3 piece set works 6 different sizes. They have tapered reverse flutes cut into it so when you go to loosen it it bites into the nut. They work good.

Either a socket that bites or loosen tire pressure and weld a socket or breaker bar onto the nut.

Lol... yeah, tell me about it! Everything is difficult here. Nothing open on Sundays, most places close around 6 or 7pm. And the closest real auto parts place or Home Depot like place is about 45 minutes drive each way. Ready to come home to the land of junk yards and Walmarts!
