i guess this upgrade doesnt work on sports because the roof rack doesnt extend the full length of the roof

i dont think any of the roof rack rails actually go all the way to the front but def get you close enough to use them as a light bar

on newer XJs the roof rails arent as long on some models.

my sport has the longer roof rails.

I wonder why they made them shorter later, they look weird only going about half of the body length.

haha true that. I learn stuff all the time on here, its awesome.

here check out this pic of another member's xj. theyre shorter than a full length, and lights on it by themselves would look semi odd i feel.

if anyone has pics of their setup with a newer model/shorter rail, post em.

it dont work well on the 97+ cause the rails stop about 3 feet shy of the front of the roof. 96 and down go all the way forward.
