I'm surprised that you don't know where these relays go because they are shown in your 1998 FSM, section 8W-10 and 8W-12.

The part number for the top relay is correct but the bottom one should be 4671168E.

Here's pics of the PDC and JB showing the relays.

RELAY, Horn, Cigar Lighter, Auto. Shut Down, Starter Motor, Heated Rear Window Defog, Cooling Fan & Fuel Pump. Relay part number 56006709

RELAY, Mini, A/C Comp Clutch & Fog Lights. Part number 4671168E

C'mon Bimmer. You already changed one for your fan relay? Take the cover off the PDU behind the battery and you'll see fan relay and ASD are the same, many other things take the smaller relay.

I forgot I had the fuse diagrams.
I've barely worked on the XJ in 2014.

Where is the little narrow relay used?

AC Compressor Clutch. Also used for Anti-Lock Brakes and Fog Lamps - if you have them. Look at the PDC pic and look in your PDC.

Ok, I might have bought the small one when I tried to troubleshoot my AC.
