My maintence require light in on I know this is a different light from the engine light but what would make it come on? I have a 91 laredo 4.0 I heard its just like a "hey change your oil" light but Im not sure does anyone know and if so how to clear it? Thanks

 

It can only be cleared by the dealership with their DRB. It comes on after so many miles to remind you of required maintenance, usually emissions related. Best advice is to check your owner manual for required maintenance at your mileage.

 

maint light comes on at 82,500 miles to remind ownwer of maint needed,procedure says to replace 02 sensor and inspect all emisions related equipment,dealer thing,you need a DRB 2 to reset.
this does not mean anything is bad or needs to be replaced.

 

Ya i just rebuilt the motor because i bought it a while back and the number 6 piston hit the valve so i just pulled it and rebuilt it. Then when i got it all in i saw it was on. So i have to just go to the dealer. Do you guys know about how much it is to get done.

 

just reach down under the drivers side dash and unplug it.
you may need to remove the lower knee panel to get to it.

 

O just the back of the light. Thats simple enough.
