Default Make Your Own Snorkel!

So I was online lookin for a snorkel for my 88 xj, when i found out the price was $200-$400 i said hellz no, so i decided to make my own snorkel.
I went did some research, got some ideas from my Cherokee buds, i still havent started doing mine yet since my xj is in the shop getting some stuff done to it, All this will cost you is no more then $75. Yeah $75 Bucks For all the metarial. and just about a hole day, (NOT EVEN A HOLE DAY) to get it done. it looks great, works just like a real one does and now you dont have to worrie bout gettin water in your engine nore wasting $400 on one. am just posting this up as a heads up for any of you that are interested, i should be getting started next week when i get my xj back. So if any of you are interested please let me know! Thanks!

Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it. I would put something ove the cone to keep the water out but allow it to still suck air, some guys have used coffee cans

What did you put on the inside and are you going to keep the whole air filter assembly? If you are, how did you block off the original intake through the grill?

Personally I think it look horrible. If you really want something better I would run it to the vent in front of the wind shield. That way you don't see all that toilet pipe and the plumbers tape. Just my opinion.
