Has anyone noticed he has an 88?
Doesn't have an AX-15.........Has the Peugeot BA-10.
Checked the trans lube level yet? Condition of fluid on your new purchase?

I'd start with a new drain plug and gasket and go from there. If you don't have oil leaking around the pan edges there's no reason to go to the effort of replacing the oil pan gasket.

Probably the oil filter adapter I think. Mine leaks in such a way that makes pretty much everything look like it's leaking, drain bolt included.
That adapter is a common source of leaking. If you Google for "xj oil filter adapter leak" there are a ton of resources on solving it. I'd really look at that first.

The oil filter adapter is a common issue, as is the valve cover. Both will leak down the back of the engine due to the tilted "nose-up" way the engine sits.
I'm doing my oil filter adapter when I next change my oil - it's not a difficult fix and the new set of O-rings is only a couple bucks.
You could probably pick up a new drain plug and gasket and a set of O-rings from your local parts store for right around $10 and replace both the next time you do an oil change. If you haven't done one already, an oil change should be one of the first things to do on any new-to-you vehicle. My 95 seemed to really like the WIX filter (Napa Gold filter should be a re-packaged WIX).

It amazes me how much info gets thrown into these threads without proper understanding of the situation.
First off, verify lube level and condition.
Identify which trans you have.
As with any "new to me" vehicle, check all fluids and condition right away.

Just finished the oil, went with 10-40 and some stabil. Also replaced the oil cap and now my pressure is stable at 30 psi idle and 35-40 while driving. Old oil was pitch black haha. Going to look more into trans this weekend. Anyone know where to buy the mt90 fluid? Autozone didn’t carry it and I’d rather buy it in person than online
