I had a good set of manual regulators in my 94' 2 door and decided I wanted power. Its easy.. Also, I have a hard time finding manual regulators at my local JY. All XJ doors are stamped for both power and manual window regulators. There are a few ACC slots that are open in the fuse block. My thought, if your going to all the trouble to take the old one out, you should go all out and have power. You could add power locks too.

Tools needed:
1. screwdrivers (philips and flat)
2. 10mm socket
3. cordless drill with F bit.
4. Set of torx wrenches
5. wire cutters

How to do it: pick the newest Jeep you can find (less age on motors)

1. go to your local junk yard
2. remove arm rest
3. remove 3 screws holding door latch
4. remove two rods for lock and latch
5. remove door panel. (pull out push clips, and slide panel away from door hinge)
6. drill out top rivet of support brace in the middle of door and rotate it down and away from opening
7. unplug the motor from the harness
8. remove the 7 bolts that hold it to the door
9. you will have to rotate and tweak it in such a way that you can get the torx bolt out of the window glass. Its a pain in the a$$, that's why I bring a small 12v motorcycle battery with me to move the glass up and down.
10. Once you get the two apart, move the glass all the way up and hold it in place (screwdriver)
11. manipulate and rotate motor out of the door.
12. get wiring and switch. (passengers side and rear doors are the best for wiring) cut the wires where they go through the door to the main harness.

Installation is just reverse order.

Misc. parts to take with you:
trim with window switch
window switch
clip a few of the wires with the plugs that go to the ACC ports on the fuse block (it makes for secure connections)

When hooking up the power:
when looking at the back of the window switch the two outer wires are ground and the middle is connected to +12V. Hooking them up to the ACC ports insures that the windows only work when the key is in the on position. Grounding can be made with self-tapping screws anywhere on the chassis.
