Hey all - according to my Chilton manual, the brake light wire on my 95 should be pink and the taillight should be white. I see zero of those coming out of the housing! I see black (which I assume is ground), white with tan, and blue with red - any ideas??

I have a '99 and '01 so I don't know it the wire colors are the same. What tail lights are you referring to? Left and right running, left and right brake or third? On a '97+ the third/ high mount brake light is tan and white (possibly orangeish or beige depending on fading). Unfortunately this is the only color I know, if you are looking for the running/ brake lights I can't help but I'm sure someone else will soon. Best of luck.

I also forgot to mention that the third/ high mount wire runs through the boot at the top of the liftgate in between the hinges. For a 97+ it's the left boot, right is only a washer fluid hose.

So I eventually got to the bottom of it - the brake light (and apparently also the 3rd brake light) is the white/tan, and the tail lights (dimmer red that come on with the headlights) are blue/red. And I was wrong, my manual is a Haynes. Why on earth does it say pink for brake and white for tail lights and license plate light (which is actually what I needed as added a tire carrier and am relocating the license plate.)

Anyway - hope this can help somebody else! Many thanks for the replies.
