No no guys, these are the tires I'm going to put on AFTER I lift it. I won't be placing these tires on now. I will put the, on after I install my lift, I'm just getting everything ready. As of right now will the 30.30" look bad on the 3" lift? The coopers really work well with my budget and BFG's are too expensive and I hear mixed opinions about it. This car is a DD above all else with little wheelin opportunities. I plan on doing light off road, like rally tracks etc. no rock climbing etc. I live in Ny and have to go to PA to wheel it.

I attempted a 2" lift with 235/75-15s but the leaf springs ended up being closer to 3" so I had to make adjustments to the front to even things out. Ultimately, I think the 235s are a little small for the lift I've got now but I'll deal with that when I need new tires. For now, I love the way it drives and handles and it's far more capable than it was with stock feet and suspension. I've also noticed no difference in gas mileage with the slightly bigger tires.

Did I say scrap it, no I said itd be a worthwhile swap. Why not build on a better platform? And yeah forn3 inchesbid say go 31s or 33s. I love my Duratracs and recommend them

Semantics. And you didn't say it was a "worthwhile" swap, either. You made it sound like it was necessary with alarmist statements like "make sure you don't have a D35". The only thing that exposes weakness in the D35 is tire size and intent, he's fine with both.

I said I would make sure as it is a weaker axel. Its a cheap, easy swap. why not do it. I suggested him do it before the lift, so he can get a kit for the right axel. I never told him its a crap axel that should never be wheeled, of course for light trails its fine, but I made my comment before he told us what kind of wheeling he plans.

Thanks for all the inputs guys, I really appreciate the advice. I ordered 4 Cooper Discoverer AT3's from Discounttiredirect, was a pretty good deal I think, came with an $80 visa prepaid card rebate, and free shipping! Anyway, As far as the axle thing goes, I am in no financial situation to replace axles, god forbid they fail on me I will be screwed. I do have a 3" RC lift with a 1.25" t-case drop. Like I said, this is the apex of my lifting of the car. I plan to dip my toe into the wheelin' lake once the new tires are on and the lift is in place. I love my Jeep, more than I ever imagined.
edit: Also thanks for the pictures, you guys have some very nice rigs!!

PurpleToxin is right about the D35 being a weak link in the drivetrain, they have been known to snap axle shafts when forced to drive big tires (32+) and I've read of axle tubes bending in extreme cases. My completely stock 25-year-old D35 has taken me some amazing places and, other than a leaking pinion seal, has never been a problem.
When I get my welder I plan on doing some mild trussing and upgrading to the Super 35 30-spline axles and ARB locker. That will make it significantly tougher than an 8.25 but at a price.
Congratulations on the new tires.

i say 31's look great. hate win tires are 1 inch from the wheel well, makes no sense
the lift company will say what tires will fit that lift without trimming. personally i like 31x10.50x15. they have nice look and aint to big so they wont rub. im putting a 4.5" lift on my cherokee and the max tire size for that lift is 32's

With 4 1/2" of lift I run a set of 35x12:50's on Beadlocks and these 33x12:50"s most of the time. The key to it is the proper wheels, in my case both sets of mine are 15x8" with 3.75" of BS is required as it is with a 31x10:50 tire, with some trimming and if you must bump stops.
