Mechanic Switched Parts
What parts on your cherokee have numbers that match your VIN? Would the steering shaft, anything on the steering column? The dash? I took my cherokee to a mechanic and i know he traded my dash out and my steering column but i dont know how to prove it. Help!!!

The dash? There is a VIN tag about here. (don't give me any grief Cruiser. I added the rain and effects on purpose!)

I dont know why. Why when i took my jeep to him did my dash have two vents and now only have one. Why does my one owner jeep all the sudden have a gap in between the back of steering wheel and column? Why did i have a black plastic piece that i had to slide to take my key out of ignition n now i have a metal button that i push in, but my key just pull out w/o pushing that in. Why is the middle of my steering wheel mushy when it was always hard? How did both my middle vents above the radio that werent broke before i took it, are broke now? I dont know about any of you people but i know my jeep. I dont know why he would do that. I have a 98 jeep cherokee sport. Can anyone please tell me on what parts besides the engine and transmission do they have cast numbers? I dont get why anyone would just assume i'm just paranoid. As for conspiracy, why would i think anyone would conspire against me? I just moved to this place. I dont know anyone here. So if anyone can please help me i would appreciate it.

There where I'm shining my light through is the VIN tab on the dash. If it matches your VIN, and the dash is changed, maybe he changed the vin tag. The Highway Patrol here knows how to see if it's been tampered with, I think.

You have to confront him and you are the only witness. If you are sure about it, go to police and file complaint. Is key the same?
Get your Jeep from repair shop and immediately call police.
File complaint to state consumer department.
97 XJs had buttons releasing key. 98 probably didn't.

No he had no reason to be on inside of my jeep. Under the steering wheel where your knees would be there is grease all over that panel. Im fixing to post pics of gap between steering wheel and column and also the gap between my dash and inside frame. That gap wasnt there either.
