Post Mechanical and efan change or new ventilation system?

Hey, quick question to just know your opinion about, My XJ 98 ventilation system is kinda done, the mechanical fan needs to be replaced, some blades are damaged and is really time to replace it, while with the electrical one, which is working good but structure got broken and is kinda hanging where it should be located now (I used some wires and plastic wire belts to keep it in position) radiator is ok but probably in a couple of years would go to retirement so my question here is, would you replace both with OEM parts or similar with good performance or do the investment and buy the kit from the ffdynamics which I've read in other threads is really good. I haven't had serious problems of overheating in the past but after all these years of service, a well cooled engine sounds good to keep the maintenance of the whole thing.

OEM replacement radiator, mechanical fan, mechanical fan clutch, electric fan, and thermostat.

No need to go crazy with aftermarket parts trying to fix a problem you don't have

What he said! You'll be much better off using the money you saved on other maintenance.

And make sure the fan shroud is there, replace it if it's not

Buy the cheap aftermarket. It's just fans. If you don't get hot now you'll be fine with properly functioning parts. Nothing special about OEM fans. Buy something cool with the extra.

What TrailerTrash and exasemech said.
So many threads about upgrading cooling componets.
Seems like at least half the time it doesn't help and in some instances makes things worse.
As far as the electrical fan goes been happy with the Ebay special I bought about 4 years ago.
So far anyway. LOL.
Actually think the design is better then the OEM one in certain respects.

I agree with sticking with factory or equivalent stuff

I would stick with OEM or equivalent parts.
With the money you would save, go get a new water pump.
Water pumps that are old can loose the impeller from corrosion....

Default My research has shown…

OEM has done right by me when updating the cooling system.

solid suggestion. The coolant is gunna be drained anyway you might aswell take an extra hour or two and replace the water pump so you know everything is taken care of

Thank you all for you responses, I went with OEM parts and replace both fans! Still some reparations to be done but so far ventilation system is done!
