Default Messed up spark plug order....

Okay, replaced spark plugs, had the wires all labeled, took them off one by one, replaced in order, now jeep won't start. My hanes book only has firing order and diagram for a 4. Kinda BS.

I know the spark plug order goes from 6-1, back to front, and the middle wire in the center of the DC goes to the coil. But the rest of it, I'm stumped. I tried the order on pics I found online, but go no where with it. Still won't start. I have already pulled off the battery connections and cleaned them. I didn't do anything else. I gapped all the spark plugs, so I don't know what happened, but kinda mad at myself. Can anyone help? Thanks.

You didn't glob Dielectric Grease all over the connectors inside of the spark plug wires or coil wire did you?

For the Jeep 4.0L just remember too young, to old, just right (153624).

That's also the firing order on all (American made) straight 6 cylinder engines

Didn't mean to offend. But that animated gif is going to stick with me for days. Thanks.

Too young to afford owning a Jeep, too old to have the free-time needed to maintain and modify a Jeep, and just right to own a fixer-upper Jeep. That's what I meant. ;o)

When I was younger I went for the older ones.

Now that I'm older.............

The firing order should be cast into the intake manifold, at the base of the throttle body on the newer one and along the runner for the throttle body on the old one.

True.

Another thing to note is that many manuals show #1 in the wrong place.

Ken's diagram, and the one below, show the correct position.
