MMMMMMMM......Looking at your photo it looks like the plastigauge only got distorted by turning it. If that's the case, you are over .003 at least. Having it not mash in two points 90* apart..........wouldn't be good news, but at least nothing says it's out of round. Just remember those core charges when it starts up again.
That said Hurray! The crowd cheers! Well done, (for what you had). Hope you get thousands more out of it before.......
The Napa filters are fine. Something goofy on your end, (or some rare defect). Wonder what happens if a glob of something thick passes through the pressure relief valve. Happy trails.

Hey! great news Jay, I posted this thread in this one this morning
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/eng...advice-128419/
Makes me want to "slap a set" in my old girl. Still OK at 265K......does knock unless I keep the evil, wrong, oil in it though.

Ay man! Nice to hear from you! Supper. "rings and rods" is the first real mech work my dad had me do at 16 or so. Much thanks for the update, Don

Last time I used aluminum rails from a sliding glass door. I suppose nice straight 1x4 could work. I wired the aluminum loosly, right in the center.
You measure across right at center level, front and back. Mine has a tie rod connecting the steering knuckles. You loosen the clamps and rotate the whole rod to screw it longer or shorter. Sory, I don't remember which tie-rod end has left hand threads. If you make the front reading 3/32-1/8 of an inch less than the rear that should do. I always double check after rolling it.
With a helper you can just use the tire tread and a tape, just be sure to measure from the same place on the tread.
Btw, you want to check for wear/slop on the rest before adjusting it! (TRE's) especially.
