Might buy this XJ, but is this normal?
Considering a 95 XJ with 230k. Seems to run good and trans seems fine. A/C works. One rust hole about the size of a nickel on the right rear roof near the corner, but no others that I can see. I can get it for $900. Seems like a decent deal but I am concerned about more rust. I looked underneath at the floor boards, rockers and bottom of doors, but see no ther signs of rust. Is it normal for an XJ to rust in a spot like that but no where else??? Here are some pics:

I was just concerned that the one spot means there are more that i cant see. Its a Florida Jeep though. Are you being sarcastic about the color? Its one of the things I like the least about it...besides the rust spot.

Doesn't matter what state it's in if there's a seal or glass leaking and letting water into the Jeep. If you're concerned about rust ask for permission to pull up some carpeting and get a look at the floor especially in the general area of the rust you see. I'd say it's worth $900 either way, but it could give you a way to bargain the price down more.

something could have scraped the paint on the roof and with all the salt in the air there, it's rust in no time. I have 2 small spots (smaller than a dime each) on my roof where crap fell through my basket and the salt rusted it real quick. some fine grit sand paper and primer do wonders if it's just surface.
