Default Mileage?

My XJ has 140K on it and People are telling me not to take it off road because it has to many miles, it has been offroad a few times but nothing to hardcore, can I push this jeep to the limit or should i go easy on it because of high mileage, because from my experience with the XJs they cant be killed which is y i bought one...

thanks

My 91 cherokee has 287,000 miles on it with the original engine and is just now having major engine problems. The previous owner offroaded tons with it and frame and all still in good shape. Have fun!

147k that's it? it's still a baby depending on how it's been maintained. My 88 has 176k and my 89 has 125k they were both under 100k when I first got them. I change the oil every 4000 miles on them I use high quality oil filters (FRAM) and a lot of people laughed at me for this but I use Pennzoil straight 30 weight and they run great!

You can TRY to run it into the ground but they don't quit that easy. It's not a ford.

I baby mine in the driveway (oil every 3000, and such), and beat it up off road at 156,000.

Feel free to break parts; thats why they make replacement parts and junk yards.

Like these guys said, the 4.0 is bomb proof. Keep er full of the fluids, treat er well, and drive er frequently. Go on youtube and look up destroying cherokee. This will show you the strength and reliability of the XJ. Have fun!
