Actually here in oklahoma any station selling the 10% blend must post it..Believe it or not I have 5 stations by my house that do not sell the high ethanol blend gas...The one I goto I have been goto for a long time and know the owner.. So yes here in the US some stations have opted not to sell the 10% blend...
He blue what is the ZDDP additive named? I need to add it to mine..Now on the Mobil 1 is it the full synthetic..?

Lowers MPG's and I have been told by a number of mechanics that the 10% ethanol blends will shorten the life of older style motors..So unless the gap become greater then 4 cents a gal I will continue to by my non ethanol gas..Right no the 10% blend is 3.43 a gal non ethanol base is 3.46 a gal...I do realize all gas that isn't high ethanol content has about 1% or less added..

Valvoline 10/40 and 85 octane fuel. That is low grade in CO, we do not even have 89 octane at most stations. The higher octane is useless at this altitude anyway. In CO it goes 85, 87, 91, go figure!! BTW, we pay the same for 85 that you guys pay for 87, and almost all fuel in CO has the ethanol additive, we are environmentally conscious and all!! Whatever!!

Royal Purple 10w-40
B.P./Amoco 87 octane Personal preference, and I noticed a few mpg gain from Mobil.
I use Royal Purple throughout the Jeep too, Great piece of mind knowing I have the best possible fluids in my Jeep.

Blending your own fuel? Never seen that but sounds cool. Our local Sunoco sells 110, used to have to buy it for a race car I had. Kind of stuck with this place ever since.

Yeah in the 60s and 70s the pumps had a selector on the side to mix from one or two tanks in the ground the one contained regular and the other contained the high test or premium fuel. the selectors could be used to make the actual pumps that are built into the dispensing device to mix from the two underground tanks. 0% from the regular and 100% from the premium gave you the 260 which was 108 octane fuel.

In the XJ.. whatever oil is cheap and SL-rated. It leaks so much right now that I won't spend the money on synth. Fuel... I splash blend my own. I'm up to 45% Ethanol right now. I use Shell brand No lead. My wife manages a Shell station.
In the ZJ... Amsoil AMO 10w-40 and splash blended fuel. I'm at 20% Ethanol right now.
The goal is to run the XJ on straight E-85 and the ZJ hopefully on a 50-50 blend. The XJ has no CEL to throw a light, so I am going to continue to increase the ethanol content and see how it goes. But the ZJ is going to decided by how the ECM plays with the higher oxygen content in the ethanol.
