Model: Cherokee
Motor swap
I am new to the forum and to jeeps.. I just picked up a 1986 Cherokee for $500. At this point it has a 2.8 and i want to drop in a 4.0. Would the 4.0 bolt to the same mount location as the 2.8.

I don't think it will. I've see threads asking similar if not the same question, and from what I've seen a 3.4 out of a Camaro or a 4.3 from a S10 or AWD van is usually suggested.
Or maybe it will but you'd benefit more from a different motor?
