Motor swap
I have a 96 xj 4.0 auto 4x4 w/ an aw4 trans. I have a blown motor and a 60k motor sitting on the ground and am about to do the swap. I was hoping for any good advise before I embark on this journey to ease the job. Would it be easier if I romove the trans before the motor or will the motor come out easy enough without dropping the trans? Is there anything I shoud be carefull about? I am a very capable mechanic but have never done a full motor swap. Any advise good would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Pull the whole thing out at once. Also replace the newer one as a unit also, and save yourself the headache of trying to reach the top tranny bolts.
