mounting new fan clutch question

Most XJs need the shroud......the radiator is really small so all of the factory cooling system components need to be in place and in top notch condition.
Are the "didn't have overheating problems last summer" while driving down the hi-way OR sitting stopped in traffic for an hour, on black top pavement, running the a/c, in +95 ambient?

Maybe mine being standard transmission, the rad ends up cooling engine coolant only, so it cools better.

bingo? still doesnt prove that you need the fan shroud. Just because he wasnt in your "probably never gonna happen" scenario. Every jeep cooling system is different lol. Mine used to overheat but i swapped the radiator and the thermostat and she stays perfect now, even in traffic, on a hot day, while parked on hot lava, and a fat kid stuck in my grille. i know jeeps that have the shroud and new radiators and are still overheating. You gotta find what works on YOUR jeep.

Maybe I will pick up the shroud at JY.
I changed the rad cap, and then since it would hold pressure the rad had a major leak and had to be changed since I threw the old cap away. I bought the cheepest rad from NAPA, new thermostat and it was fine since then.
About a month ago the bearing to which the pulley and mech fan is mounted broke, I changed the fan clutch since everything was out to replace the AC mounting bracket on which the fan bearing is on and added 97+ aux. fan.
The fan clutch with the fan came off and on without problem after breaking off the fins from the fan clutch that are at the edges.
This is just my experience.
