Default Mpg?

I'm looking to buy a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4. Wondering what the typical mpg you would get?

Thanks
-Josh

I think I am getting around 18 -20. I dont drive far, maybe about 30 miles a day and I run a full tank for a little over a week.

If MPG is of concern to you, you DON'T want a Jeep. The typical XJ gets 15-17 MPG. There are a few getting in the 20's highway, but that is rare.

I don't know how some of you get 20mpg... I averaged 13 mpg at my last fill up. I get a little over 215 miles a tank...

On the plus side... I don't have a car note. I'd rather pay for crappy gas mileage than a 250 car payment.

MY 93 2.5L Manual RWD XJ gets around 19-20 city and up to 22-23 highway. If you accelerate/brake and shift efficiently its not difficult to get 20 MPGs. I can't speak for the 4.0 though.

On my 2000 I'm averaging around 16-18. If I'm all highway with light traffic and she's tuned-up pretty well, I'll get about 20.
