stock exhaust is 2.25, most people upgrade to 2.5 though, and cats are a federal law...thats why it matters, there's a sticky at the top of technical discussion, I suggest those who didn't read it do, and also flip through cf rules real quick...

I thought 2.5 would cause a back-pressure issue.

2.5 should be fine, the exhast manifold is actually 2.5 then from cat back is 2.25 including cat.

yeah there's a lotta stickies, and don't take me as jumping all over you or anything, just doing my part as far as a reminder!

My god you guys got bent out of shape by my no cats comment. I know it's federal law, what I didn't know is I would get such a **** storm of comments after even mentioning it. I had read the sticky but there was no mention of not discussing it, sorry about that. It was meant as a bit of a joke anyway, nothing straightpiped sounds good.

So it's in the rules about not discussing it, seems smarter to maybe put that in the sticky about cat laws? Just a thought.

ANYWAYS, my exhaust should be in, in the next few days so hopefully it sounds pretty decent. Although on the subject of cats, not to thread jack but to maybe help the OP. Is there a common high flow cat that you guys are using? I'm sure that would help the 4.0 breathe and add a bit of an exhaust note.

Like post #2 states, that's highly subjective and tell that to the Harley dudes. There are some YouTube videos of straight piped XJs and I'm sure they're music to the owners ears.........but probably not to the neighbors.

Sahweeeet! If that BB is in that Nova, there needs to be some serious tubbin' done to the back half to handle some big meats. No way those little rubber bands with hold the torque from that beast. What kind of controller are u using?

C'mon man... Those are just my street tires Gotta keep it sleeper style

Seriously? Thats a $13,000 motor.... you think it would be in that beater? I guess if you wanted a sleeper it would be alright... And those tires would break over quicker then your moma's back

Thats not my Nova btw, or my motor... I was just giving an example
