There are two pipe hangers from the muffler back. You can mess with them, bend em, twist em, move em until your pipe is where you want it. The hanger near the gas tank can be unbolted from the frame and adjusted. I ran into the same problem when midas did a god-awful job with mine and got it all straightened out with the help of a buddy at his monro muffler shop.

Are the thick rubber hangers OK?

The one just aft of the mufler on my '92 Laredo was about to tear through. I got one from the Jeep dealer and replaced it before it did.

Give it a try. You can't really mess it up. It's always replaceable with stuff you can find at your auto store. Mine was quite a mess so i asked for assistance.

aight its on there pretty sturdy i think. when my lift was put on the other day i needed a new gas tank also bc mine was leaking. so when they replaced that they would have had to take the muffler and tailpipe down correct so maybe thats why its loose? and its on there strudle i can just twist it round but its not about to fall off or anything
