My blinkers dont work, side markers
Ok so i was changing my lights on my 97 xj and need it to strip some wires, well black and red touched and my lights went out, first the side that i was workin on and then the other side.i changed the fuse from a 10a fuse for a 15a fuse and it worked but just for a little bit ( until i slammed my hood by accident ) i wiggled the fuses but nothing happened.. Does any body have a clue what might be happening?

first of all never go up in fuse size-if there was a 10 in there originally, then a 10 needs to go back in.
go back and take a look at the wires--since that's where the problem started. Check make sure they are not touching any metal or other wires.

I agree, but I would also like to add whenever working on the electrical system disconnect the battery so things like this don't happen.

I went back to the fuse box and replaced the fuse with the correct ones but nothing happened, no wires are touching anything at all..checked all the bulbs and they are ok..

You don't say what lights you were working on. If it's the back end, you need to look inside under the plastic boot inside the lift gate behind either light. The 98xj had a big 10 wire connector there and if is anything like my sons was, you will need to jumper every wire.
