ever notice on your shifter bezel that 2wd and 4fulltime are both green? that's no coincidence - what you can drive on in 2hi you can drive on in 4hi full time. green = safe for all road surfaces.

Unless you have purchased and installed a locker, or have a limited slip from the factory, you are not locked in and all wheels turning. I understand if you mean that all wheels are able to turn but they will turn independantly unless you have the afformentioned equiptment. I prefer the 231 to the 242 but the 242 is advantagious. To instance, the 242 requires no SYE bc the slip yoke is on the ds. It has a higher ft lb rating, by several thousand pounds, in turn is less likley to break due to stress. I mean the internal components, not the case. This is based on what I have read.
