I'm going with a different angle on this problem. Getting the AC repaired is pretty straight forward.
Now you have unfortunately overheated this engine, which you said is a 2000. Unless it has already been swapped out, it still has the factory 0331 cylinder head, which is VERY susceptible to cracking between cylinders 3-4 upon an overheat.
The #1 symptom of a cracked 0331 head is "unexplained coolant loss".
So when this thing is back together and on the road, your new hobby is checking the coolant level in the coolant reservoir. If it goes down and you don't have a leak, you must determine if you have a cracked cylinder head before the coolant mixes with the oil long enough and toasts the internal engine bearings.
Good luck!

Thanks for the good info guys.
And yea... I am really mad that the engine overheated and that I have to worry AGAIN about a head cracking. I just can not win with this jeep.
I technically have a 3,000k mile warranty but I highly doubt the mechanic will honor this anymore since my AC compressor is what cause the engine to breakdown and overheat.
Overall, Im getting the compressor replaced and see what happens from there.
Thanks again everyone.

Well it's all fixed. The only concern I have is that when I turn off the ignition I hear some bubbling for about 3 seconds in the overflow bottle. Does this mean I have a cracked head or is that normal?

Remember that the overflow bottle captures excess coolant and occasionally you'll get air or steam in it.
Don't do something you'll regret later.
Even if there is a problem, doesn't your mechanic provide any sort of warranty for the work that was performed?

Not it doesn't mean the head is cracked. Probably just some air trapped in the block. Drive it for a couple days and see how it does.

I hope you are right because I can not keep doing this. It is ridiculous! I am dopping it off at the mechanics on Saturday and he is going to run a black light over the AC to make there are no leaks and some other tests. I also mentioned the bubbling in the overflow and he said I will take a look and see what I can diagnose. He knows about the heads cracking after the jeeps overheat because he has a few in his lot with cracked heads.
Also, yea he will warranty me stuff. Engine has a 3k mi warranty and the AC has 60 day. But, he is also my neighbor down the street so I am fairly sure he would not bust my *****.
I wrote this thread because I was so shocked to find the AC compressor is what blew out because it was very new. But, in the end it was AC compressor that was blown. So no bs there.
