Definitely do the maintenance first. I just picked up a 131K AZ XJ and have changed the engine oil & filter, changed the trans fluid, replaced a few bulbs, and the track bar.

5qts Mobil 1 10w-30 high mileage synthetic with a Mobil 1 filter was $35. 4 quarts of Dexron III/Mercon was $16. The track bar was $102. Wiper blades were about $30 for all 3.

It appears that I NEED rear brake shoes, so they're next. I WANT aggressive tires, but they'll have to wait until I have the $.

 

I hope you mean 6qts, otherwise you're a bit low.

 

The 5qt jug or M1 with the M1 filter was on sale. I had another quart in my garage.

I've been told that I'm a quart low.

 

I picked up a 5 liter jug of Mobil 1 full syn and a Mobil 1 filter at CrackerZone the other day for $30...

you can get 2" shackles at az for $35 and some spacers on ebay for $40 to do a 2" boost.

haha yea thats what i thought. suspension lifts are just so expensive overall. i dont mind paying 350 for a 3in including shipping, but its the installation that is like another 300. so just looking for alternatives

 

You can do a 3 much cheaper.... search around the forum

if i got the 2in rear shackles could i just get 2in front coil springs fro the front? or do i have to get some different shocks
