I thought this was a ground connector. It bolts to the block above the oil filter housing and behind the Camshaft sensor on my 2000 XJ 4.0. It’s completely open electrically. Over 20 Megs. It has one electrical pin inside although it’s a 2 pin plug. The wire side also has only one wire.

I put the LCR meter on it. It reads like a .47uF capacitor! Low resistance. Must be good.

 

Guess what? Reconnected it and the CEL went off!

its an Ignition Capacitor. Mopar 56028644AC
