I had a service guy come unlock my car, and he spent 20 minutes trying to get his tools together and slip the air wedge in the car. After getting the door spread open, and wire in place, I saw him hit the lock switch.

That's when I told him the power locks don't work
.....then he got all mad

I keep a spare key ziptied and ducttaped to the bottom of my xj, along one of the 'frame' rails. Its tucked away, and hidden so well, I had trouble finding it when I needed it, and I knew where to look. Either way, it came in very handy.

i think that ones a myth, just like using your keyless key fob signal to unlock your car through your cell phone.
