This is on the inside of my throttle body and has two vacuum tubes connected. I'm trying to figure out why my RPM hangs when I push in the clutch or take my foot off the gas. I've checked and rechecked my TPS and IAC so I'm exploring the vacuum lines hoping to find something. I've never thought much about this part but I'm curious what it does and whether it can be replaced.

my 87 has something like that on the inside of the air box. Not sure exactly what it does though.

The way it was hooked up for mine I thought it had something to do with the opening of the intake flap.

Yeah, this is on an '87 Renix throttle body. Finding information on Renix parts isn't easy. There's plenty of articles explaining diagnotics etc but I still haven't found anything about that little thing.

Thanks, I overhauled it and cleaned everything in the process.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I wish my Jeep looked that clean under the hood!
