Nameplate Adhesive?
A couple of options for mounting nameplates are 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive or 3M Adhesive Transfer Tape. The first is a glue. The first seems like the route to go.
May I please have suggestions for other options. Can someone recommend their “go to.”

I have used the 3m "press in place" emblem double-sided tape in the past, works great and holds extremely strong.
Conforms to the back-side of the emblem for maximum surface area adhesion

...bearing in mind that darker, stickier automotive emblem tape is not the same as 3M double-sided tape in the walmart office and school supplies section. Therefore definitely look in the automotive section.
I personally would just use the adhesive. If you read the instructions, they recommend you apply a thin layer to each surface, but don't mate the halves until they become tacky. Then you put together and the bond is extremely good. It won't pull apart or fall off and no glue will squeeze out. If the adhesive is squeezing and running out you're not applying in accordance to the recommended instructions that I've read. Using it like school glue, yeah, it'll work like crap. But either way, adhesive or double-sided will work. I think the tape will stand up better in the long run. I've seen adhesive dry out and start to dislodge due to mud/sand/heat after many years.
