1994 jeep cherokee, one of the pieces of plastic where the mounting bolts goes into has broken off. i was able to give the appearance of long bolt going into that part of the bottom tray, but in reality, it was not securing anything.

My go to inspector in Virginia has abandoned me (personal situation) and now i need to take the vehicle to a more particular shop.

Anybody got any ideas for a cheap fix (to salvage the battery tray - they run $35-45 new, and i have NO time for junkyard visits)? Or maybe i could get the whole sha/ebang somewhere for lower costs.

Right now, the battery is sitting in the tray without any mounting hardware attachments.

C.Battery mounting and storage. Inspect for and reject if:
1.A battery is not securely attached to a fixed part of the motor vehicle or trailer.
2.All brackets, hardware, bolts, and bushings used for securely mounting the battery to the vehicle are not present.

 

Sometimes auto wrecking yards (not self service or you pull it) have the option for home delivery - that's what i would try. If not possibly the hardware store to make something quick and cheap yourself?
