Default Need help i have a bad leak!

1998 xj 4 door 4.0 auto 4wd

I live in Missouri and with all the rain the last few days it has revealed a major leak, my upper windshield seal has always leaked and I need to replace it or seal it somehow any ideas on that? But more importantly my drivers side front floor is soaked like not standing water but almost, I'm not sure if it's the bottom of the windshield seal or maybe some leak from the cowl area? But the passenger side is dry which leads me away from the hvac air intake as a source, i need to solve this before it rains again

You could try some of this stuff, it may help at least temporarily:

I think on my '99 there's just the rubber gasket. If you have a metal molding it probably just clips on.

Just developed a small leak on the passenger side. Small portion of the headliner is damp and the floor. Thinking I am dealing with 2 different leaks. Tried RTV'ing the corner of the windshield. No luck. My plastic rubber molding on the '00 has a channel that the windshield goes into. So you are not able to remove that, gunk everything up, and put it back. Come Spring just going to remove the windshield and reinstall it with new molding. Hopefully that will take care of the upper leak. Also in the Spring tear apart other stuff to find the floor leak.

Well I haven't attempted anything yet, I don't wanna tear up the black rubbery trim peice trying to remove it, is there any special way to remove it or just pull it

Most of the time it is rust at the top of the windshield is where the leak is that requires repair. If you have never pulled a windshield take it to a shop to have it done of the cost might go a lot higher. Some cases it takes some body repair to fix if its rusted.

Is the drivers door sagging? Once the door sags the weather strip doesn't seal real well at the top and allows water to get in.

Unless you are pulling the windshield out do not pull on the rubber molding. I know it just looks like it sits on top of the windshield but there is a channel under that the windshield goes into. You pull that off without plans of pulling the windshield thinking you will never get the windshield back in the channel.

No there's no sagging and there isn't any visible rust, the top I'm not as concerned with as the lower leak because my floor is still wet and I don't want my floor board to rust out
