Need Help to Identify Spring?

Took '92 Jeep XJ rear passenger door panel off today and found this spring in the bottom of the door. I am in the process of trying to repair a stuck door. Where does it belong? Thank you.

Gotta go with Dave51 on that one.
Not sure how '97 and up differs from '96 and down but this is a picture of the door handle in a '97 and up.
Sorry that it doesn't show the spring well but only shot I have.
