Need help please
I need help please 97 cherokee 4.0ltre I go to start my vehicle an blew the valve cover gasket out. Now can this be a bad water pump that if I just found out that pump was bad would that do that or could it be something worse . please if someone can help me please I m so upset over this im just praying it is not serious but im thinking if water pump is shot the vehicle wont start. Please any help i apreciate

Valve cover gasket "blew out"? It needs replaced. The water pump has nothing to do with the engine starting. All it does is circulate coolant. If the water pump is bad, it needs replaced or the engine will overheat. Automotive doesnt seem to be your thing, so a mechanic may be in your best interest. Automotive isnt for everybody. No shame in that. It does get frustrating, it can get messy, and in some cases, expensive.
