Have your friend join here. It will take less time, rather than going thru a middle man
Seriously. It would really help here. Especially if he can check things as they are suggested by members here. Gives people a better understanding of what's going on.

That doesn't mean it isn't in there the factory is known to put some in "just in case"
Also sealant isn't the only thing that will plug up a cooling system. Anti freeze will go bad, that is why you are supposed to flush the system and change the coolant from time to time.

I have never seen this in a 4.0 come from the factory with stop leak .... but you are correct about the coolant and flush...

I have misspoken about jeep, but I know for a fact that Chevy does it, add Dexcool and you have a mess. Been there done that.

A freeze out plug would be pissing out antifreeze. Does it have a leak?
I assume the Jeep had the overheating issue before the water pump and t-stat was put in to try to fix it. If it was just to freshen up the parts then you have air in the system.

Check your fan clutch and electric fan and make sure everything is working properly.
Make sure the radiator is not caked up with dirt preventing important airflow.
If you have a leak, fix it. When you're coolant level gets low, it'll overheat.
More serious problems can be in the cylinder head but start with the basics.
If a vehicle was loaded with stop leak, it can cause blockages causing overheating. It tends to block up heater cores as well.
