dana 35 out back and a dana 30 up front. as far as the lift, look for part numbers. i'm not sure how to tell what kind of locker just by looking at the diff, i think you will have to open it up and look. is that thing in the last pic for your locker? if not it might be some kind of brake controller, did the PO tow a trailer?

Thanks for the info, it has a rough country sticker on the window but I was not sure if that was the lift or not. With the locker you just push the botton and pull to ingage right? One other question. What is a disco? I was reading on here and they were talking about discos and non-discos but I have no idea what they are. Are there any pros or cons to the discos and non-discos?

Yes you push the button and pull to engage push button and push back to disengage make sure your tc is in 4x4 mode first before you engage the posi lok. Your disconects are on your sway bar undo them for more flex when you go offroad.

Ok got you. Now the black part on there outside of the button turns, does that do anything? Like maybe but the power to the left or right side or equal them out. Never had this kind of set up before. On my Chevys they are push button.

He did use a very good set of shocks BDS is my choice too. The posilock looks similar to the high idle things that I have seen on firetrucks to keep the engine reved up during pump operation. Are you sure that you don't have a fast idle thing instead of a posilock?
Another answer for the discos is that some XJs came with a disconnect front axle that was vacuum operated. It was a failed attempt by the factory to save fuel but they were a waste and didn't save fuel. If you have one it will look like a bulge on the passenger side of your front axle. It may have a vacuum line running to it to engage or disengage it. Inside is a two piece axle with a shift fork setup to engage a set of gears that mesh and connect the seperate parts of the right axle.
