Arrow New to board not to Jeeps .. 93 Xj motor troubleshoot needed ASAP !

So I just bought my 5th jeep in my lifetime… Picked up a 1993 Jeep Cherokee 2 door 4.0 ho motor on an AW-4 transmission. Long story short. I bought jeep knowing that it had a couple of issues. I knew going in that it needed a new oil pan gasket and rear main and the little stuff like all older trucks will have. I drive it home (2 miles) it ran OK. Oil dripped from the rear main to the exhaust making some smoke but like said I new this.

DAY1

I decide to clean up other peoples messes from my XJ. Interior cleaned and then I moved to the motor. Soap and water only… I wanted to get it clean so I can see any thing that needed to be repaired or replaced and track down any fluid leaks….

LONG STORY short.. 2 days after cleaning the motor the truck will not start. Before I replaced the stuff below it would turn over but stall and choke out if ANY throttle was applied…

WHAT I REPLACED SO FAR.
Rotor
CAP
PLUGS
Plug wires ( yes I know the firing order 153624 )
Fuel pressure regulator

WHAT I EXAMINED
Cleaned the throttle body up well
Pulled the IAC sensor .. The pintile was very dirty,,,, I cleaned and reinstalled it
Fuel filter examined after pulling it… It’s not clogged

The fuel pump is newer according to the previous owner. I can hear it prime when the key is turned. When I pulled the fuel filter I turned it over I get a solid flow for 2 seconds of so then the flow stops (as it should I think)

I went into troubleshooting mode and checked pressure via the Schrader valve on the fuel rail…. Let the pump spool till the humming stop. Left key in the ON position… pushed the Schrader value in and NOTHING…
I would really like to hear this Xj start soon…..any ideas ?????

Uhhh, bad fuel pump. No fuel at Schrader, no pump action.

Siphon out fuel to well below 1/2.
Lift rear enough to get under, if necessary. Usually not unless you are big...as it too many Twinkies.

Point box fan at you for fresh air.
Brass drift...sometimes doesn't work. Long screwdriver with black elec. tape on tip. Whack either until retaining ring loosens.
Fiddle with the pump until you find the magic position and remove.
Put new pump on.
Reverse all.
Start car.

Pump primes well... and with a fuel filter removed it will make quite a puddle of fuel befoer it shuts off (like it 2 seconds) I think the pump works.... Maybe I'm not priming the rail...

thinking the firing pattern at the dist. cap is 153426

I forget though if the rotor spins clock wise or counter clock wise .. meaning is the 5 clyinder to the left or the right of the 1 cylinder on the distributer cap ???
