Default New with a couple questions.....

Hello to all. I have a 99 cherokee sport. 132k couple ?'s......... every once in a while after starting and beginning to take off my jeep just kind of dies out. only for about 3-5 seconds it loses power and seems like its going to stall out. then its completely fine. only does this once in a while, and i does it in any weather rain, sun, warm, cold. also on idle it feels like it "bucks". shakes the car, not crazy bad but enough to notice that its not right. has newer plugs and wires, but I'm not sure what they are, quality wise. they were "just put in" when i bought it. I'm mechanically inclined so i can pretty much check anything out and or replace things myself... thanks Also the check engine light comes on for a while then goes off..

Could be the throttle position sensor, but you should have it checked out to be sure.

Make sure wires are seated correctly(plugs and rotor). Check TPS and CPS.

changed plugs and wires... the gap on the plugs ranged from 10-45.. cylinder 3 was the one with 10. that took care of the idle "bucking/shaking" but i still have the issue of when taking off at about 10mph i lose power for 3-5 seconds..

there is no fuel filter on your 99. only filter is the strainer.

With the TPS your mostly looking at hole linear the read out is. Starting around .85 closed, (from memory here) to wide open close to 5v.
Make sure that the numbers climb smooth and there is not a sudden drop or spike.
