so would the tps cause this problem of dying out for 3-5 seconds every once and a while?

I can't say it would or not. I could see it causing a lean/rich condition trying to compensate for a random illogical throttle position.

Might even be a simple air intake issue. Take out the filter, (not permanently, just to check) and drive it. It might be starving.

Also, you might have had some bad gas.

Plus... I'm a true believer in lightly added seafoam to the gas tank. About half of the recommended dosage to not clog stuff up.

new air filter... and put sea foam in the tank and in the TB and it barely smoked.....

my jeep did that for a week till I figured it out... I have a amp and its wired into the main fuse/relay box... which was touching the plastic .. shorting out and melting the plastic.. check that... the bolt was lose that holds the battery lead on... you never know
