Talking New To The Forum..Here Is My Jeep

1996 4.0 inline 6 Country Edition cd/mp3 player Eclpise amp 10" sub in sealed box 4.5" Rubicon Express lift kit Procomp wheels and tires Flowmaster muffler (still has stock cat) drop in K&N filter

i bought the truck a week ago for 2600 bucks the body has 200k miles on it it told me the motor was rebuilt 50K miles ago and im not sure if i beileve him or not haha but i bought it anyway because it runs perfect and has alot of power still and doesnt leak or knock or burn oil the trans was rebuilt a year ago and i have paper work proving that susp. has about 12k miles on it he said

so far ive put a stereo system in it waxed it cleaned the carpets etc and ive changed the oil to mobile 1 10/30 5qts 6th gt i used 10/40 mobile 1 oil filter that came with the truck (normally i use k&n filters) and i put a drop in k&n intake filter

i bought some spark plugs for it NGK V-Power i figured they were the best ones that the store had? not really sure what the jeeps use and i also got some sea foam to clean out everything before putting in my new spark plugs

if you have any tips or things i should or should not do or brand of parts please let me know im interested in learning more about these trucks and the 4.0 motor ive owned wranglers before but i only kept them for a month or two and lost interest i really like this cherokee so hopefully ill keep this one

Surferkid.. I may help to post the tech questions seperately with an appropriate title. I dont have the answer to either, though from what I have read the Champion truck plugs seem to work the best. I dont even know what are in mine, had it for almost 2 yrs and never check. They are due for replacement though. However I did run NGKs in my Chevy 350..

Nice looking Jeep you got and for a good price.

i used seafoam on mine good stuff! i didnt pour it in the brake vacuum line though?! i poured mine directly in the valve cover and some in the throttle body also added it in my fuel tank.. I did use it to clean the injectors while i had them all out i soaked them right in it for bout 4 hours and it didnt hurt them. im not sure how it is on the o2 sensor they do sell a cleaner that says right on the can safe for o2 sensor cant remember what its called but seen it at advanced auto when i was getting the seafoam

a good set of plugs SHOULD be isaid SHOULD be pre gapped but i would check them to make sure they are consistent with each other not sure on the gap size but if they have the little cardboard tube on them they are USUALLY pre gapped. be careful not to bump them when you install them or the gap could change

it cleans gunk build up when used in the crank case and removes carbon and fuel deposits when added to your fuel system.... basicly frees sticky lifters and cleans drty injectors in other words

hey surfer just remember to change the oil a little sooner than you normally would if using it in your crank case it will loosen stuff up in there that will now be running through your filter and your oil pump so a filter and oil change is a good idea.when i use it in mine i change the oil about 500 miles afterwards and then again after 2000 miles and watch for what comes out of the oil pan.
